Week 8 EOC: The Adventure

On a beach side town I was sitting with a good friend from back in the day when a shuttle drove rapidly through the streets. Soon after many more followed behind it each one making a stop until one finally stopped behind us with an older man yelling out who is ready to shoot and fight for our town? Turns out saying yes would lead us on an unexpected plane ride across town to a massive battle going on between our town and a neighboring city. Riots over a recalled snack containing harmful bacteria broke out and caused hysteria in the streets and started backlash between authorities and the public. Everything turned deadly and now my friend and I were equipped with rifles driving in a jeep shooting at protesters from local streets that we were just peacefully on not even hours ago.  Others yelling and driving erratically just as we were causing chaos. Finally an announcement was brought to our radio that a bomb, 30 minutes out, capable of destroying a 50-mile radius was to be dropped via air 20 miles away. We rushed away and stopped at a local grocery store where we pick up quick snacks as we made our risky drive away from the blast zone. We drove and drove and finally a bright flash arose behind us and it was then when we realized half our town was gone. With the left over snacks we had we created something original, something that unlike the product that caused all the madness on this day would not rot or get old. We got the inspiration to make something that people would enjoy while celebrating and with this event we formed the now famous Zin Sticks.

Target Market Strategy

"After deciding on its overall marketing strategy, the company is ready to begin planning the details of the marketing mix, one of the major concepts in modern marketing."

Zin Sticks was created to target adults over 21 hoping to offer a snack during a bar or club visit but with much thinking we decided it was best to pursue a wider audience to give the kids a try! With multiple combos including different types of bread and sides we thought this was best to allow us for expansion in the company and we feel with this decision we can bring our delicious snack to many more people and make the kids enjoy a piece of what their parents eat rather than limiting it away from them. We wanted to spread the idea of sharing with the family and with the holidays coming up what a perfect addition to the table to get everyone talking about their stories with our product. Whether the adults talk about all the fun they had on their night out or the kids talk about how they saw our logo flying in the air during last week’s food fight. (Yes we did discuss that in our offices) We hope to spread the memories of our item!

"Consumer value and relationships are at the center of marketing strategy and programs. Through market segmentation, targeting, differentiation, and positioning, the company divides the total market into smaller segments, selects segments it can best serve, and decides how it wants to bring value to target consumers in the selected segments."

With the spread of our product our target audience can range. We will make special products to push to the older and still make the kids look forward to trying new flavors. We still want to get our product with our retailers but little things like having our items in two separate isles in the store or maybe even branching out to local ice cream trucks we hope keeping our creation to our select cities will generate a hype and buzz to be a thing every tourist will look forward to trying when visiting our limited locations!

Situation and SWOT Analysis

“Through strategic planning, the company decides what it wants to do with each business unit.”

Having multiple managers in a business isn’t always required. You can have one powerful leader that everyone can respect and listen to and it can be just as effective as having multiple people running the show. With some cooperation and patience, finding the right group of people working together can be extremely critical in making a business running smoothly and efficiently. At the end of the day we believe in serving and pleasing our customers. If that’s the main agenda of everyone else in the shop that only allows for easier communication so that everyone is on the same page as to what needs to be accomplished. Teamwork can always be key if everyone is willing to put their part into the team. A great leader wouldn’t be if it wasn’t for the men and woman who helped along the way and we believe in that strongly and are always pushing for it.

“In addition to being good at the marketing in marketing management, companies also need to pay attention to the management.”

With a strong team can come being too comfortable.  I believe in having fun in the work area but it’s necessary to keep someone in control and keeping things in order. That’s what having a strong leader is all about. Not so much someone telling people how and what to do properly but someone who will interact with the team to get a sense of what happens first hand.  If something goes wrong the manager can then understand what really happens rather than yelling or punishing people without not knowing what went into the problem. An interactive boss, I believe, can make or break a team of hard workers. People love a great leader and with that comes someone who will be willing to take action in making sure everyone has an easier day in the work area.

Objectives

"Each manager should have objectives and be responsible for reaching them."

When leading a business I always thought the person in command had to always make sure people were doing their job right. Making sure everything was going as planned or even checking up on the status of the company. Turn’s out there is much more into running a business than I would have ever known. Keeping professionalism is common sense but it goes further than just watching your language or keeping a clean shave, it means keeping your business running smoothly and always making sure everything is running in order and on time. Keeping up to date with the things you need not only make your company reliable when demand is being met but to ensure your customers are always being kept the main priority making sure they aren’t waiting around for your mistakes and that they will get whatever it is that they came to you for with the least stress and hassle possible.

"Profits can be improved by increasing sales or reducing costs. Sales can be increased by improving the company’s share of domestic and international markets. These goals then become the company’s current marketing objectives."

With most things in life my family and I believe in being fair. Treating people equally and always spreading positivity. Certain things in life are not easy to obtain simply because of price and this can range across so many items. Keeping a fair price is everything to the consumer. Someone, somewhere is always going to bring up whether they are spending too little or too much. It is our objective with Zin Sticks to be the most affordable snack on the market and at the same time present specials to our customers whether we offer a buy one get one free deal or carrying a rewards card gets you more benefits we will always ensure that with our business we know what’s right with you and your family and most importantly being fair to you and your wallet.

Business Mission Statement

"The company needs to turn its mission into detailed supporting objectives for each level of management."

I believe there is not one way for a company to be successful. A lot of things can go into someone making their business the most successful. And success doesn’t necessarily mean making the most money or having the most customers, success is defined by a personal goal. Whether that person want’s to be the most recognized brand in town or wants their food to have the best reputation possible a goal can stem from the little to the most extreme. Our goal at Zin Sticks is to provide our customers with the best tasting alcoholic snack out there but still branching out to the young so they too can enjoy our many breads and cheeses that we have to offer. Many believe it is our goal to be better than our competition but to us we are our own competition. We are striving to make ourselves and our product better and better.

"Finally, a company’s mission should not be stated as making more sales or profits—profits are only a reward for creating value for customers. Instead, the mission should focus on customers and the customer experience the company seeks to create."

Many believe that the mission of a company is to be the richest and most sought after than the rest but we here want to reassure our customers that that is not our objective. As previously stated we only want to better ourselves to continue pleasing you, the people. We hope to accomplish this by listening to both criticism and complements. By listening to both we can not only find out where we need to improve or add to our product but we can know what exactly it is that you love and that we can keep a standard so every time you try our product the disappoint is never their and you can have faith that buying our product will in fact be an enjoyable and rewarding purchase. We will push to make sure we do our part in bringing what we hoped to accomplish since day one.
